I Like Trains 传记

iLiKETRAiNS met in the Northern transport hub of Leeds in the Spring of 2003.

Windswept platforms provide the inspiration, tales of fated Antarctic expeditions provide the lyrics, and a love of England, Iceland, complex visuals and leaves on the line provide the future for this quintet.

The debut single came in July 2005 - BEFORETHECURTAiNSCLOSE - a song in 2 parts, was released on Dance To The Radio. STAiNLESS STEEL had previously been contributed to DTTR’s debut compilation of Leeds bands

Later in the year came A Rook House For Bobby, backed with THE BEECHiNG REPORT released on the Kids label. This releae featured members of Shady Bard on additional orchestration and numerous Leeds music alumni in a choir (This Et Al, Napoleon IIIrd, Vatican Jet, Yellow Stripe Nine and more)

Mini album, Progress Reform followed on the Fierce Panda label in 2006, preceded by the Terra Nova single. This brought together most of the previously released material as well as some newly recorded songs

In early 2007, the band signed with Beggars Banquet and released a single Spencer Perceval (an obituary of sorts to the only assasinated Prime Minister of Britain)

Elegies To Lessons Learnt is iLiKETRAiNS’ first studio album, released on 1 October 2007. As with their EP, Progress Reform, many of the songs cover historical events, which the band are especially interested in.
